Okay, it’s not even November
and I’m talking about turkeys!
(not in a culinary way though)
Here's the reason:
While working on my home
computer, planning the December 2012 ‘Soul Gateway’ events
for the studio ,
my dog started ringing his
outdoor bells signaling
he was ready to go outside.
I reluctantly got up from my computer where
I was organizing my thoughts. I go to open the back
door, when I realize there is a
turkey staring at me from 10
feet to my right. I step back from
the door and see another
turkey, standing right at the entrance to my patio,
about 10 feet away.
It’s not
like I see turkeys everyday!
It’s probably been 9 months
since my last sighting.
Ok, so there’s a turkey
standing at the gateway to
my patio while I’m thinking
about December’s ‘gateway’ events!
And (dog) bells are ringing!!
I had to chuckle at the synchronicity.
God definitely has a sense of humor. Got my attention!
When you see an animal
that’s outside of your usual daily encounters,
it’s a good time to research
animal totems and what the animal
represents for you at this
time of your life.
Some would call these animal sightings a coincidence,
but I don’t believe in
coincidence. I truly believe there are many signs along our
pathway , “path lights”, if
you will, and if we see and acknowledge them,
they can help to guide us.
Animal
spirits, power animals or animal totems are such
pathway lights.
Some stay with us for our whole lifetime and
some just come to help us at different points in our life.
This is what my turkey
friends can represent as an animal totem:
The wild turkey, sometimes
known as an earth eagle,
is a reminder to appreciate
the blessings of each moment,
of each day and to show our
true selves, (our plumage),
as we stand in our own
power. It may also
represent that it’s a time
to make some personal sacrifices for
the good of others, but to
make sure we have a balance
in knowing when it’s right
to make sacrifices and when
not to. Turkeys are able to
fly powerfully for short
distances and remind us to
balance our responsibilities
so we have stamina to
complete our
tasks as well as nurture
ourselves.
The animal totem TURKEY can
also represent:
Abundance and fertility
A connection to the third
eye, insights
Appreciation of mother earth
Generosity
Preparation
New beginnings
Pride
Survivor
Renewal/Rebirth
Okay, my turkey friends got
me right where I live! Literally and figuratively!
I’ve been working on
balancing
my responsibilities better
and learning to say ‘no’, as well as speaking up for myself more,
& standing in my own power.
Seeing the turkeys at this
time was just a confirmation to me
that Source, Angels and Spirit Guides
know what I’m working on and
that I’m not alone in this process.
Oh, and, hello! A reminder that there’s more
inner work to be done,
if I choose to accept the assignment. :)
Taking it another step
further, the number 2 in numerology also represents
loving service,
so from that aspect as well,
I know since there were 2 turkeys, that it’s another reminder that I am
surrounded by a loving, unseen network of support. We all
are.
Do you have an animal totem
right now that you are aware of? One you see in person
or that keeps coming up in
magazines, billboards, statuary?
I invite you to open your eyes, see the signs and find out what they may symbolize for you.
Love, Light and Shine Bright!~ Kristy
