Mourning in the Rainbow Light

As the tears fell down my face, I gazed at the rainbow beams of light pouring thru the

stained glass window at the funeral service and I was reminded of hope and faith.

The gently, dancing light beams of rich , jewel tones caressed the church in the ancient

promise made to Noah of light at the end of the flood, of brighter days ahead,

of rebirth at the sign of the rainbow.

As I tuned back in to the mass, I heard the words of the song being sung. As the tears

renewed their vigor of filling up my eyes, I heard the voice of Jerry, the dearly departed,

joining his voice with the others , in verse, to sing "and in dying we are born to eternal life".

It was then, that I had to

smile through the tears and got a glimpse of him in spirit form, smiling and holding both

hands up, by his side, in seeming gratitude and joy, and my heart smiled.

Just a few days before Jerry had transitioned to the other side of the veil, and as we sat

with his wife that night, weeping in protest at his departure, I had looked up to see him

standing joyfully by us, next to his back door in the family room where we all sat, observing

us. He looked so happy and vibrant.

The next day he told me to let his daughter know to

keep using her paintbrush/pencil, that he's proud of her talent as an artist.

Later on, while waiting in line at the

viewing, he let me know that he felt a special devotion to the Virgin Mary . About an hour

after that, as I prayed in front of his casket, he mentioned that the tie and shirt he was

wearing for his viewing were in the pale blue of the Virgin Mary, and that it made him happy

to have Mary's color on.

God bless Jerry- precious, joyful spirit.

May we all find the rainbow promise of good things ahead and see the signs of hope when

our path gets rocky and tears flood our vision.

Love, light and shine bright,

Kristy

Passing with Grace, Love, Joy and Style

Grace, love, joy and style forever : A dear friend of mine lost one of her friends this week at the tender age of 51, after 8 months of lung cancer.

The beautiful soul that passed, Kathy, is so inspiring.

She loved life and made sure she showed it by wearing her trademark leopard print thru treatments and picking out her funeral dress in leopard print.

The past 2 weeks were spent having friends visit her and as they came to see her, she gifted them a lavender scarf for lung cancer, to remember her by.

She picked out favors to be given out at the funeral (angel pins with 'believe' on them) and ordered leopard ties for the men to wear at the funeral tomorrow.

She told friends and family that she would give them signs from the other side when she got there and what to look for.

She asked if they had messages for her to give their passed on loved ones, since she'd see them soon.

Wow! I am inspired. (btw, her friends all went shopping for leopard outfits to wear to the funeral tomorrow. I wasn't the only one she inspired!)

May we all shine our love and ourself so bright when it's our time to walk into the light.
God bless you, rest in joyful peace Kathy.

love and light, Kristy

Dusting Off the Ashes & Finding Forgiveness

It's 3/26/13-  6 days till the burned down shell of my in-laws house
will be bull-dozed (on Easter Monday).
Wow, it's another level of emotions to process.
Who knew?
I just keep reminding myself how the Phoenix arises from ashes,
reborn into a new life,
much like the Christian meaning of Easter.

Time to dust the ashes off. Time to grow and blossom.

I realize now, I haven't even begun to think about
the thieves/arsonists who performed this act of malice,
3 weeks before Christmas 2012.
We've just been focused on one day at a time,
of sorting through black dust and looking for light.

The losses that hurt the most
aren't the china dishes and gold jewelry,
but in items like the unicorn mural painted
on a bedroom wall by a hopeful teen (25 years ago now),
the kitchen that hosted so many family dinners made with love,
and the growth charts penciled in on wallpaper
that span 40 years of kids and grandkids.
Ahhh, so many lessons on the letting go of the material stuff
and remembering that the memories live within us,
forever in our hearts.

Since it's a time of Spring, of Easter, of rebirth,
it's a good time to focus on releasing things
that no longer serve us,
so that our energy is freed up to allow in new growth,
 possibility and abundance.
A good time for forgiveness,
so that we can move forward unencumbered by old emotions.

Forgiveness doesn't mean we are "okay" with the acts of another,
it just means that their act no longer has any power over us.

For the next blog entry,
I'll share with you some beautiful forgiveness techniques.
For now, I realize I must go and practice these techniques
for myself,
as the demolishing of my husband's chilhood home
grows closer on the horizon and
the lessons of "letting go" are being processed.

Wishing you grace in 'letting go' of that which no longer serves you,
easy forgiveness and peace in your life.
Namaste,
Kristy

Through the Fire and Ice, a Winter of Wonder

Happy February! The month of celebrating Heart-Space!
Here in New Jersey, we are chilling out with the latest snowfall, turning our landscape into a winter wonderland of glistening snow. Our town only had about 4 inches, so it's easy to just witness the beauty without much effort involved. As I gaze at the winter wonders out my window, I have to appreciate the wonders within my own life.
For it has truly been a time of fire and ice for my family these past 3 months.

I am grateful for the crisp air that helps cool the memories of dealing with November 30, 2012, when burglars burned down my in-laws house in an arson fire after they stole sentimental jewelry from them, leaving them with not much material possessions. So far, there's about 10 things retrieved from the burned out shell of a former family compound of 35 years. I love that the first few things retrieved from the devastation were rosary beads, a statue of the Virgin Mary, a necklace and a mosaic gift my children had made for my mother-in-laws August birthday .
"You can steal from a house, but you can't take away the heart of a home when it's built on God and love."
Those words were channeled through me in the darkest of days, when reality set in, and they mean sooo much to me, even now, becoming a mantra for me when the sadness creeps in over the material losses, reminding me too, that my mother and father and law weren't home that day and are healthy.

Getting through the initial days of shock, in the beginning of December, I was pleased to have a visit from my precious Great Aunt Rose, who passed away 8 years ago. Through my tears I told her how happy I was to see her, but I expressed my surprise at her visit, since I hadn't "experienced" her in a while. She reminded me that she had dealt with a fire at her house ( due to a dryer vent that needed to be de-linted), many years before, and was at my side to comfort me and get me through this time, to deliver a 'hug' from the other side. I am so grateful for the open-mind God has given me that I am able to know and acknowledge visitors when they come to me from the other-side. We all have this ability, but often don't pay attention to it or don't want to deal with it.
I am grateful for the healing that has begun amongst my family members, and for the fire that burns within our hearts, to keep us going through tough times, continuing to ignite our spirits with hope.

Most certainly I am glad for the spiritual tools I have in my toolbelt that has helped my family and myself to get through the journey at this time.
Watching my 9-year old daughter cope with her upset, by coloring 13 mandala pictures in her bed one night, on her own, helped to keep me centered and focused on sharing these tools via workshops.
Mandala's are tools for healing, in case you aren't sure what they're about. They can be just a pretty image if you want, or they can calm the healing heart by providing a safe, nurturing expression of self. Never underestimate the power of coloring :)
That being said, I have some exciting news to share with you!

Walk With Me, a new show about Lola Irizarry's spiritual journey, that will air on Comcast/Fios/PhillyCam beginning in March 2013,will be taping at a couple of my February workshops! Join us and be a part of it all on Tues 2/12/13 at the Heart Mandala workshop, 7-9pm, at NJBalance Wellness Center, 43 S. Main street, Meford Village, NJ 08055.
May your Valentine's Day and month of celebrating love, shower you with abundance, healing, new opportunities and joy.
May your heart always be alight, through the darkest of days, igniting your spirit with hope.

Lessons from Being Lost in the Rain

So many things to be learned, driving around in a heavy, rain downpour, through flooded roads, lost in New Jersey.
Oh, yeah, there was also a desperate need to use a ladies room, my cell phone was dead, GPS was not working right, I had a low grade fever AND I was one and a half hours late for my foot doctor appointment (so they couldn't get me in after I finally found them).

Yeah, that was me earlier today.
Ahhhhhhhh.
Inhale.
Exhale.

I finally reached my last straw when the GPS landed me in front of a house on Laurel Road for the 2nd time with no doctor office in sight! I was way over an hour late for my appointment at this point. I even stopped in an empty small shop at some point and a nice gentleman googled the address for me and printed it out. It landed me in front of a house too!

So, sitting in this remote neighborhood, embarrassingly late for my appointment, bladder barking at me, no cell phone and ready to cry, I finally asked for help.

"Angels please help me get there now! Please!"
(did I mention the desperate need to go to the bathroom for the past hour?)

I then hear a voice say, "Put the word Laurel Road EAST in the GPS". I quickly typed it in and, no kidding, went a few streets down through a labyrinth of a housing development, and 'voila', a different Laurel Road (in the same town) emerged, like 2 minutes later. The road my doctor was on!
I must have been driving in big circles for a LONG time! But, I eventually made it.
I missed the appointment by a landslide, but at that point I would have given a co-pay just to use the bathroom.

So, now I'm trying to figure out the lesson(s) in my adventures on this fine Friday.
I really do feel that there is a reason for everything we experience.
Sometimes it's easy to find the lesson or reason in our adventures, other times, it takes some pondering.

The past 2 weeks have been chock full of lessons about taking care of myself. So, I thought I was walking my path correctly, when I called the doc right away to check out my infected toe nail that I banged up on Sunday. So, imagine my chagrin when I didn't even get to see him today. I do get an "A" for effort though, if I may say so myself :)

When I look back to see the 'light' in the situation, I realize I met a lot of nice people who tried to help me, a stranger out.
Did I mention the nice nurse drew me a detailed map so I can find my rescheduled appointment next week? And of course, there's the gent in the computer store who googled for me and lent me his phone.

I also feel the nuances in words are being highlighted for me. Being careful to use the exact words we mean in this time of 2012 shifts is very important because we're in a time of alchemy, when thoughts become words so easily as we approach the 12/12 gateway of spiritual transformation.
I typed in "Laurel Road" and couldn't find my way with the gps. When I stopped to gather myself and I took the extra time to write "east Laurel Road" in the gps, the path lit up for me right away.

And there's the big cherry on the sundae; finally asking HEAVEN for HELP.
As soon as I remembered to ask, I received help from above, in the quiet of my car, in the desperation, God came through and I was able to hear the whisper of the angels in that moment.

A great reminder that we all need to ask for HELP in our lives more. So many of us know how to give, give, give of ourselves, yet, we don't know how to receive, to ask for help from others, from God too.

Many times, I hear people say they feel funny praying for something for themselves, that it feels selfish. Then I hear the angels remind me to mention that the angels have no limits on who, how, what, where, when! Humans put limits on what we think the angels can do, but the angels can be anywhere, anytime and no task is too big or too small to them.
Since we have God-given freewill, the caveat is, we have to INVITE the Angels to help us.
I invite you to take a moment for yourself before all the holiday commotion begins.
Take the time to take a deep breath in and to ask for help in whatever big or small ways you need it. This can be through silent prayers or by asking a friend/relative for something. When you can receive as well as give, you are more balanced emotionally and spiritually and therefore can be a BETTER giver too.

Once again, as so many times in our lives , I think the lesson for me today, was in the journey, not the destination.

Can you see the light and lessons in your day? Can you reach out and ask for help when you need it?

Love, light and keep shining bright!
Kristy

Let's Talk Turkey (in a Deep Way!)

Okay, it’s not even November and I’m talking about turkeys!
(not in a culinary way though)
Here's the reason:
While working on my home computer, planning the December 2012 ‘Soul Gateway’ events
for the studio ,
my dog started ringing his outdoor bells signaling
he was ready to go outside. I reluctantly got up from my computer where
I was organizing my thoughts. I go to open the back door, when I realize there is a
turkey staring at me from 10 feet to my right. I step back from
the door and see another turkey, standing right at the entrance to my patio,
about 10 feet away.
It’s not like I see turkeys everyday!
It’s probably been 9 months since my last sighting.

Ok, so there’s a turkey standing at the gateway to
my patio while I’m thinking about December’s ‘gateway’ events!
And (dog) bells are ringing!! I had to chuckle at the synchronicity.
God definitely has a sense of humor. Got my attention!

When you see an animal that’s outside of your usual daily encounters,
it’s a good time to research animal totems and what the animal
represents for you at this time of your life.
Some would call these animal sightings a coincidence,
but I don’t believe in coincidence. I truly believe there are many signs along our
pathway , “path lights”, if you will, and if we see and acknowledge them,
they can help to guide us.
Animal spirits, power animals or animal totems are such pathway lights.
Some stay with us for our whole lifetime and
some just come to help us at different points in our life.

This is what my turkey friends can represent as an animal totem:

The wild turkey, sometimes known as an earth eagle,
is a reminder to appreciate the blessings of each moment,
of each day and to show our true selves, (our plumage),
as we stand in our own power. It may also
represent that it’s a time to make some personal sacrifices for
the good of others, but to make sure we have a balance
in knowing when it’s right to make sacrifices and when
not to. Turkeys are able to fly powerfully for short
distances and remind us to balance our responsibilities
so we have stamina to complete our
tasks as well as nurture ourselves.

The animal totem TURKEY can also represent:
Abundance and fertility
A connection to the third eye, insights
Appreciation of mother earth
Generosity
Preparation
New beginnings
Pride
Survivor
Renewal/Rebirth

Okay, my turkey friends got me right where I live! Literally and figuratively!
I’ve been working on balancing
my responsibilities better and learning to say ‘no’, as well as speaking up for myself more,
& standing in my own power.
Seeing the turkeys at this time was just a confirmation to me
that Source, Angels and Spirit Guides
know what I’m working on and that I’m not alone in this process.
Oh, and, hello! A reminder that there’s more inner work to be done,
if I choose to accept the assignment. :)

Taking it another step further, the number 2 in numerology also represents
loving service,
so from that aspect as well,
I know since there were 2 turkeys, that it’s another reminder that I am
surrounded by a loving, unseen network of support. We all are.

Do you have an animal totem right now that you are aware of? One you see in person
or that keeps coming up in magazines, billboards, statuary?
I invite you to open your eyes, see the signs and find out what they may symbolize for you.

Love, Light and Shine Bright!~ Kristy

The Angels Recommend Spinach!!

At the risk of sounding random, I have to talk about spinach today !

(Yes, the angels talk about food, too!)

One of the most frequent things that angels and spirit guides pass along to my clients is the need to eat leafy greens, specifically, spinach.

I've always wondered why spinach?  I mean I know it's a green and it's in some way good for the body, but I never really delved into why it's so highly recommended from the celestial realms!

So, today, the answer dropped into my email inbox from cyberspace!
I had to chuckle at that. I get these emails every day from the Doctor Oz show, and maybe once every 10 days, I will open one up.
The angels kept nudging me this morning, to open today's Oz email newlsletter about magnesium and fatigue, (which I blessedly don't have an issue with) and to keep paging through the 11 pages in the mini-article.
As I paged through the blurbs/pictures, I kept hearing 'spinach, spinach'. Forgive me if I sound ignorant, but I didn't even know there was magnesium in spinach!

On page 10, low and behold, there was spinach staring at me (in a virtual way!)

So, here's Dr. Oz's info about spinach:

"Spinach - Half a cup of boiled spinach contains 78 mg of magnesium. Cooked spinach is also rich in calcium. Raw spinach is still good for you, but cooked spinach makes it easier for your body to absorb the minerals it contains."
"Do you feel irritable, weak and exhausted all the time? You may be suffering from a magnesium deficiency. Magnesium is a crucial, but frequently overlooked, part of a balanced diet. It’s crucial in more than 300 bodily functions – many of which give you energy. Get your daily dose of this fatigue-fighting mineral by eating five servings of these magnesium-rich foods a day." -www.doctoroz.com

Now it all makes sense!
Most of my clients tell me how drained and tired they are and the angels/spirit guides are giving them, (via me as the messenger) , a natural, healthy solution!

Please note, that Dr. Oz also recommends oatmeal, bananas, raisin bran, whole wheat bread, brown rice, kidney beans, black beans, etc. for obtaining magnesium as well. If you're fatigued, you may want to check out the food solutions offered at his website.

I also found the info below from www.cookingnook.com:

"Why Eat Spinach?

Spinach nutrition is amazing. The calcium content in spinach strengthens bones. It contains A and C vitamins , fiber, folic acid, magnesium and other nutrients to help control cancer, especially colon, lung and breast cancers.Spinach also helps protect against heart disease because of the folate content. The flavonoids in spinach help protect against age related memory loss. The lutein in it helps to prevent cataracts, as well as age related macular degeneration, the leading cause of preventable blindness in the elderly. Foods rich in lutein are also thought to help prevent cancer.

How to Get More Spinach in your Diet:
  • Add chopped fresh or frozen spinach to lasagna to up the nutrient content of this tasty comfort food.
  • Add chopped or frozen spinach to your favorite vegetable soup recipe.
  • Sauté spinach with a bit of garlic for a tasty super food combination. Try it on top of a baked potato.
  • Make quick and easy spinach dips to eat with crunchy raw vegetables and whole grain breads like pumpernickel, and enjoy the health benefits of spinach while you nibble on your favorite veggies.
  • Use fresh spinach instead of lettuce to add a twist to your favorite sandwiches.
  • Add chopped fresh or frozen spinach to omelets and frittatas. Make sure frozen spinach is thawed and well drained."

So, "go green" for your body and get energized!
